CAFA Visual Art Innovation Institute (VAII) was established in November 2015. It has the privilege of being one of the first college high-tech innovation centers approved by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.

VAII takes "Vision Beijing" as its core concept and covers four major construction areas of "space, image, fashion, and life”. By conductingiconic academic activities and by setting a comprehensive academic platform based on its series of laboratories and studios, VAII carries out the national innovation-driving strategy to serve the national and the capital cultural development through its top-level projects crossing culture and technology. It also joins with Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Beijing Film Academy to enjoy the flow of talents, resource sharing, and common development.

VAII is devoted to the platform forming. Its "EAST Season" has become a publishing and sharing platform for globaltechnology arts of their latest research and creative achievements. VAII hassubordinative laboratories and studios that integrate functionsof innovation, talents training,  and achievement transformation into one, and it has become the landing and implementingplatform for the leading planning.

VAII continues to introduce top international elites and sets up a team of avant-garde experts with leading professional levels covering a wide range of fields, which plays a prominent role in the theoretical research and innovational practice. As an important part of CAFA’s Double First-Class construction, VAII, with its promotion and expansion of discipline connotation, talents introduction and sharing, and exploration and innovation of the education model,  has become new highlights of CAFA as it’s becoming a world-class art academy with distinctive Chinese characteristics.
